A Study of Colors and Textures

I've considered myself a formalist more than anything else, and that's become much more prevalent lately. Artworks don't need a central theme or something that they are "about". It's satisfying to work with lines, colors, textures, and shapes. It feels nice to work on a piece, adding and subtracting elements, until it feels finished. These new works are evidence of that feeling.
